Smart Cooling

Fridges that warn you before stock spoils

Wireless sensors measure the temperature in every fridge, cold room and freezer around the clock. If anything goes out of range, the person in charge is told at once and the HACCP temperature log writes itself.

Overview

No more paper temperature sheets

In many kitchens and stores, staff record temperatures by hand twice a day. If the compressor stops at night or a door is left open over the weekend, you find out when the stock has already spoiled. A sensor in each cold room measures continuously and sends the value every few minutes.

The sensors are small, run on batteries and send over LoRaWAN, which gets through cold room doors and walls better than Wi-Fi. For freezers, we use sensors with an external probe, so the electronics stay out of the cold. The data is stored in the dashboard and exported as a report for your HACCP inspection.

What you can monitor

Applications

Restaurants and kitchens

Chiller rooms, freezers, under-counter fridges and display cases. The daily temperature log is always ready for inspection.

Supermarkets and mini markets

Dairy fridges, meat display cases and ice freezers. The alert reaches you even when the shop is closed.

Food warehouses

Large cold rooms with sensors at different heights and positions. You see whether cooling is spread evenly.

Refrigerated vehicles

Cargo area temperature during delivery, with readings stored when there is no coverage. You have cold chain proof for every route.

Pharmacies and vaccines

Medicine fridges that must stay within a narrow temperature range. The history records every deviation with its time and duration.

Server rooms

Temperature and humidity in the server room and at the air conditioner outlet. You learn about a cooling failure before the machines shut down.

The sensors we install

Wireless and battery-powered, with no cabling. Battery life depends on how often they send readings.

SensorTemperature and humidity sensor
MeasuresAir temperature and relative humidity
Where it goesInside chiller fridges, display cases and server roomsIt goes away from the evaporator fan, so it shows the temperature of the space.
SensorSensor with external probe
MeasuresTemperature down to very low freezer values
Where it goesFreezers and freezer rooms, with the device outsideThe cable runs through the door seal or an existing hole without breaking the seal.
SensorDoor contact
MeasuresDoor opening and closing, and how long it stays open
Where it goesCold room and fridge doorsIt alerts you if the door stays open beyond a set number of minutes, before the temperature rises.
SensorWater leak sensor
MeasuresPresence of water on the floor
Where it goesUnder refrigeration units and condensate drainsIt detects a blocked drain or a defrost that has overflowed.
SensorCurrent meter
MeasuresCompressor consumption and operation
Where it goesIn the panel, on the refrigeration unit's lineA compressor that runs non-stop often points to a refrigerant leak or a dirty condenser.
Alerts

Know before damage is done

Temperature exceeds 5 °C for more than 15 minutesThe shift supervisor gets an SMS and push notification. If they do not confirm, the owner is told.
The cold room door stays open for more than 5 minutesKitchen staff get an alert to close the door before the temperature is affected.
A sensor has not sent a reading for 1 hourYou and we get an email, so the battery, signal or gateway can be checked.
The freezer rises above −15 °CAn alert goes to the person in charge and to the refrigeration technician you have chosen.
How we work

From the site visit to your first HACCP log

  1. Survey the site

We visit your premises and record every fridge, cold room and freezer with the temperature range it must hold.

  2. Coverage measurement

We check the signal through the cold room doors and decide where the gateway goes. Metal cold rooms often need careful placement.

  3. Installation

We fit sensors, probes and door contacts without stopping your kitchen. It usually takes one visit.

  4. Limits and alerts

We set limits per cold room, a delay before alerting, and who is told at what time. We allow for defrost cycles so you do not get false alarms.

  5. Training and reports

We show your staff how to view readings and export a report. We set up automatic weekly or monthly reports.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does the system replace the paper HACCP temperature log?
The system records temperatures automatically with the time, location and a history of deviations, which is widely used as a digital log within HACCP. Your food safety consultant confirms exactly how it fits into your plan. You can also add notes on corrective actions.
Does the signal get through a metal cold room?
A metal cold room weakens the signal, but LoRaWAN usually gets through the door seals and joints. We measure coverage before installation. If needed, we use a sensor with an external probe so the antenna stays outside the cold room.
How long does the battery last inside a freezer?
Cold reduces battery performance, so for freezers we prefer a device outside with a probe inside. Battery life depends on how often the sensor sends and is usually one to a few years. The dashboard shows each battery's level.
What happens during the fridge's defrost cycle?
During a defrost cycle the temperature rises for a few minutes. That is why we set a delay before alerting, so you are told only when the deviation lasts longer than a normal cycle.
Can I monitor several shops from one place?
Yes. Each shop appears as a separate location in the same dashboard. Each shop manager can see only their own fridges, while head office sees them all.
Do I need Wi-Fi in the shop?
The sensors do not use Wi-Fi. The gateway needs an internet connection over Ethernet or 4G. If you do not want it to depend on the shop's router, we fit a gateway with a SIM card.

How many fridges do you need to monitor?

Tell us the number and type of your cold rooms and we will suggest the right sensor layout.
