Overview

Starlink for business: a connection that fits into your network

Starlink for business is the answer when fibre doesn't reach, when VDSL isn't enough, or when the business cannot afford to be offline if the main line fails. A low Earth orbit satellite connection has low enough latency for cloud apps, ERP, video calls, cameras and telephony.

The difference between a home setup and a professional installation lies in what happens after the dish. Industrial mounting, cabling to the rack, a router that combines two lines, firewall, VLANs, VPN to head office and documentation. That is what we take on, as a company that already does networks, CCTV and IT support.

We have installed Starlink with telephony at industrial plants, such as MarsTissue SA in Afidnes, Attica and Select Fish SA in Kavala, with custom mounts and integration into the plant network. We install all over Greece, including the islands, and provide remote support.

The service

What's included

Business-grade kit and mounting

Flat High Performance or Standard, depending on the use, on a roof mount, pole or steel structure that withstands the wind. The cabling runs neatly all the way to the rack or network cabinet.

Failover and dual-WAN

Starlink and your existing line go into a dual-input router. If one fails, traffic moves to the other automatically, or is shared across both with load balancing.

Firewall and VLANs

Starlink sits behind your own firewall, not directly on the network. We separate staff, guests, cameras and devices into their own VLANs.

VPN to head office

Site-to-site VPN from the construction site, warehouse or branch to head office or your server. Applications work as if you were in the main office.

VoIP telephony

A phone system and IP phones over Starlink, with voice given priority (QoS). We have done this on industrial sites under real load.

Monitoring and support

We monitor the connection and equipment remotely, with a support contract if you want one. When something goes wrong, you know who to call.

When it makes sense

Which businesses need Starlink

Starlink does not replace good fibre where it exists. But it is the most practical option where a fixed line is slow to arrive, doesn't reach or costs too much, and the simplest second line where downtime is expensive.

No fibre or slow VDSL

Offices and plants in industrial zones, villages or areas where the provider can't deliver speed. Starlink gives a connection fit for cloud, ERP and video calls without waiting for a new line.

Hotels, villas and rentals

Guests judge a property by its Wi-Fi too. On islands and in remote spots we combine Starlink with professional Wi-Fi, a guest network and a separate network for reception and cameras.

Factories and warehouses

Large sites outside town, often with a line that isn't enough for everyone. With Starlink and failover, production, invoicing and telephony keep going when the provider has a fault.

Construction sites

Temporary sites that need internet from week one for drawings, email and cameras. Starlink goes on a container or pole and moves to the next project.

Solar parks

Remote parks need a connection for inverter monitoring, cameras and alarms. Starlink provides the line where there is no other option.

Shops in remote areas

Tills, POS terminals, issuing receipts and cameras all need a stable connection. In mountain villages and on islands, Starlink, on its own or as a backup line, keeps the shop running.

Professional installation

Starlink installation for a business: kit and industrial mounting

For businesses we usually use the Flat High Performance or the Standard. The Flat High Performance has a wider field of view and is built for permanent, fixed installation in demanding locations. The Standard covers many business needs with lower power consumption. Specifications and business plans are set by Starlink and listed on starlink.com/gr.

Mounting at a business is different from a house. On panel or sheet-metal roofs, factory rooftops and tall warehouses we make custom steel mounts or poles, as we did at MarsTissue and Select Fish. Where you don't want holes in the roof, we use ballasted mounts.

In large buildings the dish is often far from the rack. In that case we place the Starlink power supply and router near the dish and bring the connection to the rack over network cable up to about 100 metres, or over fibre for longer distances. That way a business Starlink installation isn't limited by the length of the kit's cable.

All cabling runs in conduit or trays, with sealed entry points and labelling. At the end we hand over a drawing showing the dish position, the cable route and the settings, so any technician knows what is there.

Network and security

Starlink failover for business, firewall, VPN and public IP

The most common role for Starlink in a business with a fixed line is the second connection. We connect both lines to a dual-WAN router or firewall, using equipment such as MikroTik, Ubiquiti UniFi or TP-Link Omada. The router checks both lines continuously and, if the main one fails, traffic moves to Starlink within seconds. It can also share traffic across both.

Starlink should not be plugged straight into the company network. We place it behind your firewall, with the same security rules as the fixed line, and split the network into VLANs for staff, guests, cameras and IoT devices. For branches and construction sites we set up site-to-site VPN to head office.

A question businesses often ask is about the public IP. On most plans Starlink gives an address behind CGNAT, meaning you share a public IPv4 address with other users. This does not affect browsing, but it makes it hard to open ports for remote access to cameras, a server or a phone system.

There are three practical solutions. Some Starlink business plans offer a public IP, though it is not always fixed, so check the current terms on starlink.com/gr. IPv6 can be used where your equipment supports it. The most reliable option is a VPN from your router to head office or to a server with a static IP, so access goes through the tunnel. We recommend the right one for your case.

Telephony and support

VoIP telephony, multiple sites and a single supplier

A business doesn't just need internet. It needs phones that work, cameras it can see remotely and someone who knows the whole system.

Telephony over Starlink

At MarsTissue SA in Afidnes and Select Fish SA in Kavala we installed Starlink together with telephony. With QoS, voice gets priority so calls stay clear even when the network is busy.

Multiple sites

For businesses with warehouses, shops or construction sites in different areas, we standardise the installation and connect each site by VPN. The terminals are managed centrally from the company's Starlink account.

Monitoring

We monitor the connection, outages and switchover to the second line remotely. You see the terminal's status in the Starlink app and we see the rest of the network.

Support contract

If you wish, we agree a support contract for Starlink and the network, with periodic checks, firmware updates and call-outs when needed. The terms are set out in writing in the quote.

Cameras over Starlink

As a licensed security-systems installer, we connect cameras and NVRs to the same network. We tune the remote viewing quality so it doesn't saturate the upload.

One supplier for everything

Network, Wi-Fi, cameras, Starlink and IT support from the same team. When something doesn't work, you don't hear one technician blaming the other.

Cost and invoicing

Starlink for business costs and VAT invoicing

The cost has two parts. The kit and monthly subscription are bought from Starlink, at prices that change and are shown on starlink.com/gr. Our charge covers the survey, the installation, additional network equipment and, if you want it, support.

The installation cost depends on the type of mount and the height of the building, the distance from the dish to the rack, whether fibre is needed, the router or firewall for failover, VLANs and VPN, telephony and Wi-Fi expansion. A simple backup line for an office is a very different job from a factory with telephony and cameras.

We issue a VAT invoice for the work and the equipment we supply. Starlink invoices the subscription directly to the business account. Send us photos of the roof and the rack or book a free survey, and we will give you a written quote with equipment and labour listed separately.

How we work

How we set up Starlink for a business

  1. Needs and existing infrastructure

We discuss what has to keep running without interruption: invoicing, telephony, cameras, cloud. We note the existing line, router, firewall and rack.

  2. Survey or photos

We check the roof, obstructions and the route to the rack. In many cases photos are enough for a first estimate.

  3. Design and quote

We propose the kit, mount, failover equipment and network settings. The quote lists equipment and labour separately.

  4. Installation and configuration

We fix the mount, run the cabling and configure failover, firewall, VLANs, VPN and telephony. We schedule the switchover so your work doesn't stop.

  5. Failover testing

We deliberately cut the main line and check that phones, cameras and applications carry on over Starlink. We fix anything that doesn't behave correctly.

  6. Handover and support

We hand over documentation and admin credentials. If you choose, we continue with monitoring and a support contract.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can't find what you're looking for? Call us or send us a message.

Which Starlink kit is right for a business?
Usually the Flat High Performance or the Standard. The Flat High Performance has a wider field of view and is built for permanent installation in demanding locations, while the Standard covers many needs with lower power draw. For many simultaneous users, two terminals with load balancing may be needed.
Is there a dedicated Starlink plan for businesses?
Yes, Starlink has business plans with priority data and extra features compared with residential plans. Names, terms and prices change, so check them on starlink.com/gr. We help you choose the plan that fits how you will use it.
Can Starlink be a second line for failover?
Yes, and it is one of the most common uses. We connect Starlink and the fixed line to a dual-input router that switches automatically when the main line fails. Because Starlink doesn't share the fixed line's cable network, a fault in the street or at the provider's exchange doesn't take down both.
Does Starlink have a static IP?
On most plans, no: the connection is behind CGNAT, so you can't easily open ports. Some business plans provide a public IP, but it is not always fixed. For reliable remote access we set up a VPN to head office or to a server with a static IP.
Does VoIP telephony work over Starlink?
Yes. We have installed Starlink with telephony at MarsTissue SA in Afidnes and Select Fish SA in Kavala. With proper QoS settings and a router that prioritises voice, calls stay clear. During Starlink's rare momentary dropouts, failover helps avoid lost calls.
Can I view my cameras remotely over Starlink?
Yes, but it needs the right setup. Because of CGNAT, access is usually through the manufacturer's cloud service or a VPN. We also tune the remote stream quality so it doesn't fill the upload bandwidth.
Can I connect a branch or construction site to head office?
Yes, with a site-to-site VPN from the site's router to the head office firewall or a cloud server. Users see shared folders, the ERP and the phone system as if they were in the main office.
How much does Starlink for business cost?
The kit and subscription are bought from Starlink and their prices are on starlink.com/gr. The installation depends on the mount, the distance to the rack, failover equipment, VPN, telephony and Wi-Fi. Book a free survey or send photos for a written quote.
Do you issue VAT invoices?
Yes, we issue a VAT invoice for all work and equipment we supply. The Starlink subscription is invoiced directly by Starlink to the business account.
Is Starlink enough for a hotel with many guests?
It depends on the number of rooms and how guests use it. For small properties, one terminal with professional Wi-Fi is usually enough. For larger hotels we recommend two or more terminals with load balancing, or a combination with another line, plus a per-device speed limit on the guest network.
Can you install Starlink on a construction site that will move?
Yes. We mount the dish on a pole or the site container, with a router and Wi-Fi for the site office and cameras. When the project ends, the setup moves to the next one, provided the Starlink plan allows a change of location.
Do you offer a support contract?
Yes, if you want one. The contract can cover remote monitoring, firmware updates, periodic checks and call-outs when needed. Exactly what it includes is agreed in writing.
Which areas do you cover for business Starlink installations?
All of Greece, including the islands. In Attica we carry out surveys and work on site, while for other areas we schedule the installation and do as much preparation as possible in advance. Ongoing support is also provided remotely.
How quickly can the installation be done?
A simple backup line for an office is usually completed in one day. Factories with custom mounts, fibre, telephony and VPN take longer. The timeframe is stated in the quote, together with the switchover plan.
