CCTV installation in Glyfada and along the coast road

From the Glyfada shopping streets to the restaurants on Poseidonos Avenue and the marinas, cameras in the south work in sun, salt and summer crowds. We choose and set them up for exactly those conditions.

CCTV installation in Glyfada: the coast changes everything

CCTV installation in Glyfada looks simple until the camera goes outside. Low afternoon sun over the sea darkens faces, salt clouds lenses and corrodes screws, and UV radiation destroys plastic trunking and cables that are not UV-rated.

So in the southern suburbs we choose IP67 outdoor cameras with true WDR, stainless brackets and outdoor-grade cable. Junction boxes are sealed and cables are routed so that water does not run towards the camera.

Demand in the area is strongly seasonal. A system that works perfectly in February also has to cope with August, with venues open late, more people about and heat that strains the recorder if it is shut in a cupboard without ventilation.

Restaurants, cafés and beach bars on Poseidonos Avenue

In restaurants from Alimos to Vouliagmeni, cameras usually cover the till, the entrance, the terrace, the storeroom and the back delivery door. The terrace often faces the sea and public space, so we keep the frame within the venue's boundaries and mask the beach and the promenade.

The kitchen and staff areas need care. Cameras do not go in changing rooms or rest areas, and they are not used to monitor employees' work. Where there is a reason for a camera at a specific point, such as the back door or a fridge with expensive stock, we focus only there and staff are told in advance.

  • Till camera with a clear view of hands, transactions and the drawer
  • Back door camera for deliveries and out-of-hours theft
  • Terrace motion alerts only when the venue is closed

Shops in the Glyfada market and in Voula

In the Glyfada market and along the main road in Voula there are clothing shops, opticians, jewellers and electronics stores. The entrance camera there has to show faces despite the bright shop window behind the customer, which takes a camera with good WDR and the right mounting height.

Fitting rooms are never recorded. For shops with valuable stock we recommend linking the cameras to an alarm, so a door opening at night sends an alert with an image.

Marinas, Elliniko and new builds

Around the Glyfada and Alimos marinas there are charter offices, boat workshops and chandleries. Cameras at these points are the most exposed to salt and wind, so we fix them to solid points and check connections more often. For cameras on board boats we work with our sister company CS Maritime.

In Elliniko and other new developments in the area, the best system is the one designed before the walls are closed. If you call us at the electrical stage, we run conduits and cables for cameras, network and Wi-Fi together, and the final installation needs no visible trunking.

Getting ready before the season

For seasonal shops and beach bars we recommend a check in spring, before opening. We clean the winter's salt off the lenses, check seals and screws, the condition of the drive and the firmware, and confirm that automatic deletion is working.

It is also the moment to see whether anything has changed on site, such as a new awning, a new table layout or a new till, that hides or shifts a camera's view.

How we work

How we work in the south

  1. A survey at the time that matters

For sea-facing spaces we ideally survey in the afternoon, when the glare is at its worst.

  2. A proposal with outdoor materials

For each point we explain which camera, bracket and protection we recommend.

  3. Installation outside opening hours

In restaurants we work in the morning before the kitchen opens, in shops before opening.

  4. Set-up and handover

WDR, zones, masks, automatic deletion, phone app and notice signs.

  5. A check next spring

If you wish, we book the check before next season now.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does CCTV installation for a restaurant in Glyfada cost?
It depends on the number of cameras, how many are outdoors and exposed to the sea, cable distances and whether a network already exists. Outdoor cameras for coastal conditions and stainless materials cost more, but they last. After a free site survey or an estimate from photos we give you an itemised quote.
Why do faces look dark in the afternoon?
Because the camera faces the sea or a bright window and sets its exposure for the bright background. The fix is a camera with true WDR, the right angle and, where possible, a position that does not look straight into the sun.
Can my terrace camera see the beach?
Not beyond what is strictly necessary. The beach and promenade are public spaces, so we limit the frame to your terrace and hide the rest with a privacy mask. For specific cases ask your legal adviser or the Data Protection Authority.
Is a camera allowed in the restaurant kitchen?
The kitchen is a workplace, so a camera there only makes sense for a specific security reason, such as an outside door, and focused on that point. It is not used to monitor staff's work, and employees are informed in advance.
How do I keep the lens clean near the sea?
It will not stay clean by itself. We recommend regular cleaning with a suitable cloth and water, not paper that scratches. Cameras under canopies or balconies collect less salt and rain, so we prefer those positions where the view allows.
I am building in Elliniko. When should I call you?
As early as possible, ideally before the electrical work. That way we run conduits for cameras, network and Wi-Fi to the right points and no visible trunking is needed later. We work with your electrician and engineer.
Do you keep recordings for the whole season?
No. Recordings are normally deleted automatically within 15 days at most, as the Data Protection Authority expects. If an incident happens, you export the clip and keep it for as long as the case needs.
Do you cover Vouliagmeni, Varkiza and Saronida?
Yes, all the southern suburbs and the coast road as far as Lagonisi and Saronida. For more distant sites we ask for photos first, so the first visit comes with the right equipment and the job is finished without a second trip.
