CCTV installation in Thriasio for warehouses, gates and factories

In Aspropyrgos, Magoula, Elefsina and Mandra cameras are not guarding a shop. They guard gates with hundreds of lorry movements, loading bays, yards full of goods and fences hundreds of metres long, day and night.

CCTV installation in Thriasio: the site as one system

CCTV installation in Thriasio usually means large sites: logistics centres with several buildings, factories with production areas and raw material stores, yards with containers, vehicles or materials. A system like that has dozens of cameras and has to be designed as a network, not as a pile of cameras.

We start with zones: gate, perimeter, yard, loading bays, warehouse interior, offices. For each zone we define what the image must prove, such as which lorry came in, which pallet was loaded or who crossed the fence, and that decides the camera type and lens.

The backbone links the buildings with fibre and managed switches, with the cameras on their own VLAN. Recording goes to an NVR or server in a locked rack with a UPS, and the gatehouse or shift supervisor sees every zone on one screen.

Gates, gatehouses and number plate recognition (ANPR)

Through the gate of a distribution centre in Magoula or Aspropyrgos pass lorries, articulated trailers, courier vans and staff cars. An ANPR camera reads the plate, logs entry and exit times and can raise the barrier for vehicles on a list. A second camera shows the driver and an overview of the vehicle.

Plate reading needs the right angle, distance and lighting, especially at night with dazzling headlights. We position the camera to read the plate where the vehicle slows down. Number plates are personal data, so the same rules on purpose, notice and retention apply.

  • ANPR camera with infrared illumination for reading at night
  • Overview camera for the driver and the condition of the vehicle
  • Integration with the barrier or sliding gate and gatehouse access control

Loading bays and warehouse interiors

Most disputes with customers and hauliers are settled at the loading bay: what was loaded, in what condition and when. A camera above each bay, angled into the trailer, gives footage that resolves a dispute in minutes. Combined with the order time, you find the right clip quickly.

Inside the warehouse, high racking divides the space into narrow aisles. We prefer cameras with a vertical frame for aisles and wide-angle cameras for marshalling areas. Cameras cover goods and premises, not employees' performance, and do not go in changing rooms, toilets or rest areas.

Perimeters, yards and night-time

Fences in the industrial zone are often hundreds of metres long, with fields or empty roads on the other side. We split them into sections with bullet cameras and varifocal lenses and set crossing lines with person and vehicle detection, so the alert reaches the gatehouse or the person in charge instead of getting lost among hundreds of false events.

For large yards with lorries and containers, a PTZ camera helps the guard check an incident, but it is not used to follow employees. Where the distance from the building is long, we use fibre or a wireless bridge between masts.

Factories in Elefsina and Mandra

In industrial plants equipment works in dust, heat and vibration. We choose metal-bodied cameras with suitable protection, industrial switches in sealed cabinets and brackets that do not loosen with machine vibration. During installation we follow the site's health and safety rules and the protective equipment it requires.

The camera network stays separate from the production network with VLANs and a firewall, so a camera cannot become a route into machine control systems. As a networking company we treat this as a core part of the design.

For large sites

What we bring to Thriasio

ANPR at the gate

Plate reading, entry history and integration with the barrier and gatehouse.

Proof at the loading bay

One camera per bay angled at the load, for quick dispute resolution.

Backbone network

Fibre between buildings, managed switches and a separate VLAN for cameras.

A perimeter with few false alarms

Crossing lines and person and vehicle detection for each stretch of fence.

Equipment for industry

Metal cameras, sealed cabinets and industrial switches for dust and heat.

A second line

Starlink failover so remote viewing and alerts do not stop.

How we work

How we organise a project in the industrial zone

  1. Meeting with the facilities manager

We define zones, priorities, shift patterns and the site's safety rules.

  2. A survey of the whole site

Gates, perimeter, loading bays, power, existing conduits and rack positions, in one organised visit.

  3. Design and quote by zone

Cameras, lenses, backbone, recording capacity and timeline, so you can approve in phases.

  4. Installation without stopping traffic

We work zone by zone, around loading times, with a cherry picker for high points.

  5. Handover to the gatehouse and IT

Screens, accounts, signage, network documentation and training for guards and shift supervisors.

Frequently asked questions

Is number plate recognition (ANPR) at the gate legal?
Number plates are personal data, so you need a clear purpose, such as controlling access to the premises, a notice sign before the gate and limited retention. We are not lawyers, so for your case ask your legal adviser or the Data Protection Authority.
How much does CCTV installation for a logistics centre in Aspropyrgos cost?
On large sites the cost depends on the number of zones and cameras, the length of the backbone, whether there are conduits between buildings, ANPR cameras, recording capacity and the need for a cherry picker. We do not publish prices. After a survey we give you a design and a quote by zone.
Can we start with the gate and expand later?
Yes, and we often recommend it. We design the backbone and recorder for the whole site from the start and install in phases, so each new zone is added without changing what is already there.
Can the cameras record drivers and staff at the loading bay?
The loading bay camera is there for goods and premises. Employees and drivers are informed in advance with signs and written notice, and the footage is not used to assess performance. No cameras go in changing rooms, toilets or rest areas.
How long do we keep recordings?
Normally up to 15 days, with automatic deletion. If an incident is recorded, such as theft or damage to a load, the clip is kept for as long as the case needs. We calculate storage so that all cameras cover that period.
What happens if the site's internet connection goes down?
Recording continues locally. Only remote viewing and phone alerts are lost. That is why on many sites we recommend a second line, such as Starlink, with automatic failover.
Do you also handle the warehouse network and Wi-Fi?
Yes. The same fibre and switches serve cameras, Wi-Fi for scanners and forklifts, and the offices, on separate VLANs. One contractor for the whole network means fewer gaps in responsibility when something stops working.
