CCTV installation in Kifisia, from the fence line to the shop window

In Kifisia cameras have two very different jobs: guarding large houses with gardens, and protecting boutiques and clinics without bothering customers. We design both with the same attention to detail.

CCTV installation in Kifisia: the perimeter of a large house

CCTV installation in Kifisia, Ekali, Politeia and Nea Erythraia usually starts at the fence. A plot with a garden, a pool and two entrances is not covered by four cameras on the corners of the house. We need to see where someone could get in: the garden gate, the garage entrance, the back of the garden bordering a stream or a wood.

We split the perimeter into sections and choose a camera with the right lens for each. At entrances we want a clear face and a number plate; along long stretches of fence we want to see that a person crossed, and when. Cable to the garden runs in buried conduit, so it stays out of sight and safe from the strimmer.

Cameras must cover your property, not the street or the neighbour's garden. Privacy masks hide whatever falls outside the plot, which matters a lot in neighbourhoods where houses sit side by side.

Pine trees, lights and false alerts

Kifisia's greenery is the biggest problem for a camera with basic motion detection. Moving branches, shadows, cats and car headlights send dozens of alerts a night, and after a week you switch them all off.

We use cameras with person and vehicle detection, set line-crossing rules along the fence and entry zones that ignore foliage. Infrared often bounces off nearby white walls and washes out the image, so in some spots we prefer full-colour night cameras and a little garden lighting.

  • A crossing line on the fence, not a zone over the whole garden
  • Alerts only for people at night, and for vehicles at the entrance
  • Pruning or moving the camera where a branch enters the frame

Cameras, alarm and video intercom

In a home, cameras work best alongside an alarm. A wireless Ajax alarm with perimeter detectors raises the alert, and the cameras show what is happening. At the gate an IP video intercom shows on your phone who is ringing, even when you are away.

Many owners in Ekali and Nea Erythraia spend time away from Athens. For them we set up phone viewing with secure access, alerts that also reach a second person and a UPS so recording continues during a power cut. If staff work in the house they must know where the cameras are, and no camera goes in rest areas or bathrooms.

Boutiques and shops in central Kifisia

Around the square, on Kassaveti Street and in the pedestrian streets of the market there are boutiques, jewellers and cafés. A camera there has to be discreet, show clear faces at the entrance and cover the cases with expensive items. Small dome or turret cameras in the colour of the ceiling suit a well-designed shop better than large bullet cameras.

The notice sign goes before the entrance, as the law requires, and it can be elegant. Cameras never see fitting rooms.

Medical practices and clinics

Kifisia has many practices and small clinics in maisonettes and low-rise buildings. Cameras cover the entrance, reception, the dispensary or supply store, and not consulting rooms, treatment rooms or corridors where patients walk in gowns. Health data is sensitive, so recordings stay on a local NVR with access limited to named people.

In converted houses with several floors we run cable through stairwells or suspended ceilings and put a small PoE switch on each floor, so there is no wall chasing in a working practice.

A perimeter plan

A camera with the right lens for each stretch of fence and each entrance.

Smart detection

Person and vehicle detection so trees and animals do not trigger alerts.

Alarm and intercom

Ajax, cameras and an IP intercom in one system you control from your phone.

Discreet cameras

Small cameras for boutiques and clinics that do not spoil the look of the space.

Running while you are away

UPS, alerts to two people and secure remote access.

How we work

How we work on a house

  1. A walk round the plot

We walk the fence with you, by day and ideally early evening, to see light, trees and blind spots.

  2. A plan with views

We show you on a floor plan where each camera goes, what it covers and where the cable runs.

  3. Installation and conduits

We lay cable in conduit through the garden, mount the cameras and set up the NVR and UPS in a safe place.

  4. Detection tuning

We set lines, zones and alert schedules, then adjust them after a few nights of operation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How many cameras does a villa with a garden in Kifisia need?
There is no fixed number. It depends on the length of the fence, the entrances, the trees and what you want to see inside the house. After a survey we show you on a plan what each camera covers, so you decide from a picture rather than a number.
How do I stop alerts from branches and cats?
With cameras that recognise people and vehicles, crossing lines instead of zones over the whole frame, and careful positioning that keeps branches out of the image. After a few days of operation we fine-tune where needed.
How much does CCTV installation for a house in Kifisia cost?
The cost is driven mainly by cable length to the fence, whether conduits are needed in the garden, the number of cameras and whether they are combined with an alarm or intercom. We do not publish prices. After a free site survey we give you an itemised quote.
Can the camera see the street outside my gate?
Only the strictly necessary strip in front of your entrance. The rest of the street and neighbouring properties are hidden with privacy masks. For specific cases ask your legal adviser or the Data Protection Authority.
Do the cameras work if the power or internet goes down?
With a UPS the NVR and cameras keep recording for as long as the battery lasts. Without internet, recording continues locally; you just cannot watch live remotely. An Ajax alarm has its own battery and can send alerts over the mobile network.
Can I have a camera in my medical practice?
Yes, at the entrance, reception and supply store. Not in consulting rooms, treatment rooms or changing areas. Patients and staff are informed by a sign before the recorded area.
Which camera suits a boutique?
Usually small dome or turret cameras, white or in the ceiling colour, with good low-light images. One at the entrance for faces, one at the till and as many as needed for the cases with expensive items.
Wi-Fi or cable for garden cameras?
For a permanent perimeter system we prefer PoE cable, because it carries power and signal together and is not affected by walls and trees. Wi-Fi cameras need a socket next to them and their signal drops at the edges of a large garden. We use them only for a single spot where cable is genuinely impossible.
