CCTV installation in Marousi for offices and companies

In the office buildings along Kifisias Avenue, cameras have to fit the building's rules, the company's IT policies and GDPR. We design them as part of the network, not as a separate box in the corner.

CCTV installation in Marousi: offices in multi-tenant buildings

CCTV installation in Marousi is mostly about office floors in multi-tenant buildings along Kifisias Avenue, in Paradisos and Agios Thomas. The building usually already has cameras at the entrance, in the lobby and in the car park, owned by building management. Your responsibility starts at your floor's door.

That changes the design. You do not need to film the lobby again. You need cameras at the floor entrance, at reception, in the rack room and in storerooms with equipment or samples. Before anything else we ask building management for their rules on ceiling work and access hours.

Kifisias Avenue starts in Ampelokipi, right by our office, so visits to Marousi are easy to arrange. We often schedule the work for an afternoon or a Saturday, when the floor is empty.

Cameras that pass your IT department's review

In group subsidiaries and companies with their own IT, the first question is not camera resolution. It is where the camera connects and what it can reach on the network. IP cameras are computers with a lens, and on the same network as workstations they become an easy target.

So we put the cameras and the NVR on a separate VLAN, block their traffic to the internet where it is not needed and disable the manufacturers' P2P cloud services. Remote viewing goes through the company VPN.

Open-plan floors, meeting rooms and staff

In open-plan offices there is often a temptation to fit one camera that sees the whole floor. The Data Protection Authority does not allow that without a serious reason: cameras must not monitor employees' performance and do not go in kitchens or rest areas. Staff are informed in writing before the system goes live.

We recommend cameras at entry points and in areas holding valuables, not in meeting rooms. Audio is never recorded. In larger companies we work with your data protection officer or legal adviser, because we are not lawyers and the final responsibility lies with the company.

Cards, doors and cameras in one system

Many companies in Marousi already use cards for the building entrance. For the floor we add access control at reception, the server room and the archive, and link the events to the cameras. When a door opens out of hours, you see the matching clip straight away.

When staff leave, this pays off: the card is disabled once and the user's camera account is closed the same day.

Corporate offices

Shops, clinics, Pefki and Melissia

Around the large shopping centres and in central Marousi there are shops and showrooms. Inside a shopping centre its own rules on works and cabling apply, and we usually do the job before opening. In medical centres near the hospitals, cameras cover the entrance and waiting area, never consulting rooms.

In Pefki, Lykovrysi and Melissia demand comes from small shops and detached houses. Four cameras and a small NVR are often enough there, with a phone app and alerts only for people and vehicles.

How we work

Steps for a corporate floor

  1. Meeting with IT and management

We learn your IT policies, the building rules and what the building's own cameras already cover.

  2. Survey with the plans

Using a floor plan or drawings, we set positions, views and routes through the ceiling.

  3. Proposal and documentation

Equipment, network design, retention settings and sign positions, ready for approval.

  4. Installation out of hours

We work when the floor is empty, so staff are not disturbed.

  5. Handover to IT

We hand over passwords, accounts and the documentation pack, and give a short training to those who will use the system.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The building already has cameras. Do I need my own?
The building's cameras cover common areas and belong to management, so you cannot easily access their recordings. For your floor, reception and server room you need your own system, usually small and targeted.
Can our group IT manage the cameras?
Yes. We set the system up according to their policies and give them an administrator account and full documentation. We can also remain responsible for on-site support in Athens.
Is a camera allowed in an open-plan office?
Generally not, unless there is a serious security reason for a specific spot, such as a cash point. Cameras must not monitor employees' performance. We are not lawyers, so for your case ask your legal adviser or the Data Protection Authority.
How much does CCTV installation for an office in Marousi cost?
It depends on the number of cameras, whether there is a suspended ceiling and a network point near each position, whether access control is added and your IT requirements. In modern buildings cabling is usually easier. After a free site survey we send you an itemised quote.
Why not use the manufacturer's cloud for viewing?
P2P cloud services are convenient, but they send video out of your network through servers you do not control. In a corporate setting we prefer viewing over the company VPN. For a small shop it can be acceptable, with the right settings.
Can you link the cameras to the entry cards?
Yes, when the systems support integration. Every door opening or rejected card is tied to the camera clip, so checking an incident takes minutes.
Do we need a DPIA for the cameras?
It is usually required for large-scale systematic monitoring of areas open to the public. For an office floor with a few cameras at entrances it usually is not, but the decision belongs to your data protection officer. We provide all the technical details they need.
How long does installation on an office floor take?
For a typical system with a few cameras at entrances, reception and the server room, installation usually takes one to two working days, depending on cabling. If access control is added or building management approval is needed, we agree the schedule with you from the start. During an office move we set up the cameras together with the network, before staff move in.
