Poles above the pines
Properly braced poles that lift the dish out of the trees' shadow without swaying in the wind.
A Starlink installation in Halkidiki faces an issue few areas have to the same degree: pine trees everywhere. We set up Starlink at holiday homes, campsites, hotels and beach bars in Kassandra, Sithonia and around Ouranoupoli, with a position that sees clear sky and a plan that suits seasonal use.
Starlink needs a wide, clear patch of sky, not just a gap between branches. In Kassandra and Sithonia many plots sit inside pine forest, and the treetops block part of the sky the dish needs. The result is brief dropouts that show up mainly on video calls and streaming.
The usual solutions are a pole that lifts the dish above the treetops, with bracing where the height demands it, or mounting at the highest point of the roof. On large plots and campsites we put the dish in the clearing with the best sky and bring the internet to the buildings by cable or wireless link.
Do not cut trees before talking to us. There is often a position that solves the problem without intervention, and in forest areas felling or heavy pruning may need a permit from the forestry office. Remember too that pines grow: a position that is marginal today will have problems in a few years.

Most holiday homes in Halkidiki are used from May to September. Depending on the plan, Starlink offers a pause or standby option for the subscription, so you do not pay the full fee for the months you are away. Terms change, so check the current options on starlink.com/gr before closing up the house.
The dish is built for outdoor use and can stay in place all winter, provided the mount is sound. If nobody will be at the house, we recommend disconnecting the power or fitting surge protection, because winter storms are a common cause of damage to electronics.
There is a trade-off, though. If you want cameras or an alarm with phone notifications in winter, the connection must stay active. In that case we help you choose a plan that covers the cameras' minimum usage, and configure the cameras so they do not use data needlessly.
At a campsite, guests are spread over a large area under trees, and they all want Wi-Fi in the evening at the same time. One router is not enough. You need outdoor access points, such as Ubiquiti UniFi or TP-Link Omada, powered over PoE from a central point, and bandwidth management so one user cannot take the whole connection.
At hotels and campsites with many guests we consider whether two Starlink dishes with load balancing are needed. Reception, the POS and cameras go on a separate network from guests.
A beach bar needs internet for the POS, card terminals, issuing receipts and music. Many are in spots with no fixed line, or with weak mobile signal once the beach fills up.
The installation here has to withstand sand, salt and wind, and be fixed firmly to timber structures so it is not easy for others to remove. If the structure is dismantled at the end of the season, we design the mount so the dish comes down and goes back up quickly. For card terminals we recommend 4G failover, so payments keep working whatever happens.
We cover all of Halkidiki: Nea Moudania and the west coast, Kassandra from Kallithea and Afytos to Pefkochori and Chaniotis, Sithonia from Nikiti and Neos Marmaras to Sarti and Toroni, and the Athos area with Ouranoupoli, Ierissos and Nea Roda. We also install inland, in Polygyros and Arnaia, where winter is harsher.
The best time for an installation is before the season opens, in spring, or after it ends, in autumn. In July and August the roads are busy and businesses do not want work done during opening hours. If you want the house ready for summer, book early.

From the veranda to the pool and the campsite pitches, with outdoor access points and PoE.
We explain how to shut the system down for winter and restart it in spring without surprises.
As a licensed security-systems installer, we combine Starlink with cameras and an alarm for the closed-up house.
Send us pictures of the roof and the trees around the house from several angles. If you already have the kit, also run the obstruction check in the Starlink app.
Based on the trees, we decide whether a roof mount is enough or a pole is needed, and how tall.
We set a date, ideally in spring or autumn, and arrange access if you will not be there.
We set up the dish, cabling and Wi-Fi, and check the signal in every area you use, indoors and out.
We show you the app, the subscription pause options and what to do when you close the house.
